International Night Market Seeks $100k For Outdoor Market Celebrating the Cultural Diversity of Queens

A new Kickstarter campaign from John Wang, a former corporate lawyer, is looking to setup the Queens Night Market, a weekly evening shopping and food event in the New York Hall of Science parking lot, by this Spring. Night markets are usually pretty popular where they exist, but in New York, bureaucracy, forms, permits and red tape have gotten in the way for others in the past. Wang's experience as a lawyer will help him succeed where other attempts have failed, and he needs your help in funding the lengthy process to make the market legal.

The Queens International Night Market will be a large, family-friendly, open-air night market featuring 100+ independent vendors selling merchandise, art, and food, and showcasing performances and entertainment, all celebrating the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of NYC and Queens.

The campaign is looking to raise $100k, and has about $6k pledged with a month to go. Backers can get a range or rewards from food vouchers to prominent booth placement for vendors and more.
