Chef Ivan Orkin is once again pushing the boundaries of ramen.
In this video from Potluck, the owner and chef of Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop describes what makes the "uber comfort food" perfect for breakfast.
As a bonus, Orkin takes viewers behind the scenes at the kitchen of Slurp Shop to demonstrate how to make his mouth-watering breakfast ramen with Taylor ham, dashi, cheddar fondue, a scallion omelet, and whole-wheat noodles.
Orkin, a self-described "Jewish Kid from Long Island," famously united his training at the Culinary Institute of America with his love of everything Japanese when he opened his first location Ivan Ramen Tokyo in 2007.
The chef later brought his two popular restaurants to New York: the Ivan Ramen Slurp Shop inside Gotham West Market and the flagship restaurant Ivan Ramen in the Lower East Side on Clinton.
