Here's What It Takes to Clean Up After Us in the Subway

You should feel bad. Maybe you haven't thrown trash down on the subway tracks, but you've probably walked over some without picking it up, I know I have.

Now, after years of accumulation, the MTA has launched Operation Track Sweep, a multi-part initiative to keep tracks cleaner, involving a massive cleanup, special portable trash vacs, and 3 new vacuum trains coming next year.

The MTA recently released this video of the poor souls who have to stand in the nasty subway water and sweep up the trash, literally. Somebody give these guys a raise!
