Grandmas From Around the World are the Chefs at this Staten Island Restaurant

Enoteca Maria is an incredible restaurant in St. George on Staten Island that serves a global cuisine, prepared by expert chefs from around the world who have a certain level of life experience… they only hire grandmas to run the kitchen! Not only that, but a different "Nonna" is in charge of the kitchen every single day!

At Enoteca Maria in New York City, grandmas run the kitchen. More than 30 grandmas from all over the world take turns cooking dishes from their motherlands at this very special restaurant. "Professional chefs are different because the mother, grandma, has more experience," said Nonna Maria, an Italian grandmother who works at the Enoteca.
