The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has an entire section dedicated to blooming Japanese Cherry trees called the Cherry Walk, and they have just started to bloom for the Spring. It is the most highly anticipated event of the year at the Gardens, so the BBG has even setup a special webpage where you can track the blooming progress on their CherryWatch Blossom Status Map.
As of today, it looks like only a few of the trees have started to bloom so you still have a couple of weeks to get out there and take a peek. If you miss it for whatever reason, you can always watch this amazing time-lapse video created with snapshots from last years bloom.
This time-lapse video was created from over 3,000 digital photos, one taken every three minutes from April 18 to April 26, 2008, of BBG's Cherry Walk.
