While the sub in subway implies that our local transit service is completely underground, as locals and some savvy tourists know, a large percentage of the lines run above ground, especially in the outer boroughs. Local Redditor enjineer30302 recently setup a camera in the front of a J train and filmed as s/he traveled from Marcy Avenue to Broadway Junction in Brooklyn, all above ground.
