Check Out This Herd of Turkmenian Flare-horned Markhor With Offspring at Bronx Zoo

The Turkmenian Flare-horned Markhor is a unique and endangered species of horned goat found in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Our Bronx Zoo has been raising a sizable herd in captivity, captured here in this series of photos. There are 11 males (with horns), 10 females, and their combined 8 offspring, all in the Wild Asia Monorail section of the zoo.

Visit the herd of Turkmenian Flare-horned Markhors at the Bronx Zoo during normal operating hours.
