Visual artist Dorothy Iannone recently created this colorful mural on The High Line, just off of 22nd Street. Titled "I Lift My Lamp Beside the Golden Door", the artist "wanted to create something that functioned as an ode to the Statue of Liberty and the message it bears emblazoned on the bronze plaque that is mounted within the statue." Here is an interesting time-lapse showing the whitewashing of the previous mural on this wall, and the 2-day process of painting the new one on top.

A time lapse of the painting of Dorothy Iannone's "I Lift My Lamp Beside the Golden Door" adjacent to the High Line at 22nd Street. On view now through March 2019.
