German photographer Holger Keifel has lived and worked in the City since 1993, and has amassed a rather large and diverse photographic collection of "No Parking" signs from all 5 boroughs.
Keifel has put together a hardcover photobook of the best 140 from his collection, and just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help cover the costs of printing and distribution.
This current portrait of NYC is a reflection of its changing urban landscape, but it also reflects the unchanging New York attitude. I decided to cover all 5 boroughs to show the diversity and characteristics of different neighborhoods, not the usual New York City landmarks, but the still existing and fast-changing ‘real gritty’ New York.
Rewards range from an invitation to the book launch to signed prints and copies of the book. The campaign has already raised $3k of the $12k goal, with over 3 weeks left to go.
