Brazenhead Books, A Secret Bookshop in New York City

Brazenhead Books is a secret bookstore in New York City that is not officially open to the public. What makes it secret is that it is really just a guy in an apartment that has thousands of books for sale. He is not running a bookstore per se, but the is willing to sell you some books if you put forth the effort to find his collection. Etsy blogger Andrew David Watson visited the shop a few years ago and interviewed the owner Michael.

Michael is so engaging that I ended up shooting over an hour of just interview footage with him. What you see here is a very small glimpse into his bookshop and his life. What I love about my work is what I learn from my subjects, and I think the most important thing I learned from Michael is how rewarding it is to live your life by your own terms.
