Behind Virginia Overton's New Sculpture Garden Installation at the Whitney Museum of American Art

The Whitney Museum of American Art has a new commissioned project for their fifth-floor terrace, just the second project since the opening of the museum last year.

Titled "Sculpture Gardens", the installation was created by New York-based artist Virginia Overton and explores the contrast between the concepts of the "sculpture garden" as a cultivated setting for contemplating artworks and the "garden sculpture" as a vernacular ornamental object.
