Art Exhibit in Queens Hangs Discarded Christmas Trees for a Surreal Suspended Forest

Photo: Michael Neff

Suspended Forest is an interesting art exhibit that features dozens of discarded Christmas trees hung from the rafters of the Knockdown Center to create a surreal "forest" of dead, decaying trees.

The exhibition at Knockdown Center, on view for a month and configured in a grid, allows […] time for the trees to shed their needles into halos on the smooth concrete floor below. The subtle pine fragrance of the trees and the changing nature of the exhibition over time gives visitors an opportunity for quiet contemplation throughout the month.

Suspended Forest was created by local artist Michael Neff and will be on display until January 31st, 5pm - 7pm at the Knockdown Center in Maspeth, Queens.
