An Iconic Piece of Brooklyn Impresses in Milan

The Milan Expo in Italy is a massive annual event in which companies and researchers from around the world come together to show off innovation and technology that will help establish global environmental sustainability.

In this year's expo, reclaimed pieces of the iconic wooden Coney Island Boardwalk have been reassembled in Milan and are quite a hit.

Pieces of Coney Island's iconic wooden boardwalk are being repurposed for the US Pavillion at the Milan Expo 2015. Meanwhile, Brooklyn locals are unsettled by the Parks Departments plan to convert Coney Island's entire boardwalk to concrete.
