The Village Voice recently published a short piece with Colin Quinn in which the comedian discusses Greenwich Village's famous Comedy Cellar, living in NYC in the 80's, and musings about comedy and the funny business in general.
To me what's funny is when somebody just lays out some secret thought in your head that you've never even thought about. One of the biggest compliments comedians give each other is 'you son of a bitch, you motherfucker. You thought of that, damnnit. It was right there for all of us and you fuckin' came up with it.' They give you props, like, 'bastard, that was good.'
