"New York Air", a New Photobook That Gives an Aerial Portrait of the City
Back to Article
Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz / @thephotosociety New York City’s #DreamHotel was the formerly the National Maritime Union building. New Orleans-based architect Albert C. Ledner designed three buildings for the National Maritime Union of America in the 1960s, all white buildings that prominently featured portholes as an architectural feature. Ledner’s creation is now re-clad in metal and thoroughly renovated, with an artificial beach and glass-bottom pool that has portholes of its own.
