If you are a closet cartographer, you may want to wait until you get home to look at this brilliant piece of map porn. In a new interactive mapping tool from Orian Breaux, the creator of historical photo mashup site Vestiges of New York, maps of New York City are perfectly aligned and can be swapped out with a single click. The maps date back to the earliest known map of the City, the Castello Plan of 1660, all the way to the modern digital era.
Check out NYC Time Machine to see what your neighborhood looked like on a map that dates back hundreds of years.
