Known by tourists as the quintessential New York City word, 'fuhgeddaboudit' was recently given an official stamp of approval as the word was added to the Oxford English Dictionary.
I've never actually heard somebody say fuhgeddaboudit who wasn't imitating a gangster from a movie, but apparently enough people have referenced it in print that it made the cut in the September 2016 update.
In case you're curious, other notable additions this month include biatch, butt-fucking, clickbait, Foggy Bottom, ‘Merica, moobs, skronk, uh-oh, Yoda, YOLO and many, many more comical additions.
