Here is an amazing 88-year old photograph taken in the Financial District that tells a different story than we are used to seeing downtown. This is a small street with a ton of mom-and-pop stores, crowded with pedestrians and business men rather than corporations and tourists. Here is a what this same spot looks like today. Call me sentimental, but I would rather see "Eatmor" and "Epstein's" over the modern times Starbucks and Wendy's any day.
