Vimeo uploader Niko Efstathiou recently created this short little vignette showing some assorted sunset scenes in the City juxtaposed with random strangers enjoying the golden hour.

New York City's well structured street grid oftentimes aligns with the setting beams of the sun, forming long, thin shadows. In this project, I juxtapose vivid imagery of sunset over the shimmering shadows of New Yorkers, documenting their various reactions to the end of the day.

I felt I needed to document how much the #coronavirus has changed #NewYorkCity. New York on pause has turned the city that never sleeps into an empty and desolate city. These popular spaces, which are normally overcrowded with visitors are now left bare. I made this short film to capture the new tone of NYC. [WATCH] Check Out This Vignette of Newtown Creek and Surrounding Area in LIC, Queens

Newtown Creek is part of the Hudson Estuary, flowing west for 3.8 miles between Queens and Brooklyn and emptying into the East River. The Creek is comprised of small branches known as: Dutch Kills, Maspeth Creek, Whale Creek, the East Branch, and English Kills. It is a tidally influenced estuary with a total surface area of 140 acres. Its natural depth was 12 feet, but today it can be as shallow as four feet.
