Major attractions include the Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster, Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, Luna Park, Deno's Wonder Wheel, B&B Carousell, and the Parachute Jump (defunct).

Built in 1918, the Brooklyn Army Terminal (formerly known as the US Army Military Ocean Terminal) was the largest U.S. military supply base through World War II. It was used as an active supply base up until the 1970s when it was decommissioned. The terminal sat empty for 11 years until the City purchased it from the military with the intention of repurposing it for manufacturing and industrial use.

In this video from real estate website StreetEasy, take a tour of the Brooklyn Army Terminal and its rich local history.

Brooklyn has become the de facto borough of entrepreneurship, creativity and a growing DIY ethos. The borough is abuzz with ingenuity and industry and nowhere is this more apparent than behind the looming gates of the Brooklyn Army Terminal.

Among New York City parks, Central Park takes the cake when it comes to tourist attractions and grand monuments. A far more local and far less tourist trodden park, however, is Grant’s Tomb in Riverside Park. Nestled at the very northern edge of Riverside Park in Morningside Heights sits Grant’s Tomb, an impressive Neoclassical mausoleum formerly known as General Grant’s National Memorial. It is the final resting place of the 18th president of the United States and Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant.

Peek inside with this video from our friends at StreetEasy as they got to tour the interior of New York's largest Masonic Temple, located in the heart of the Flatiron District.

You probably knew 23rd Street boasts an eclectic mix of New York City staples, from the Flatiron Building to Shake Shack and of course everyone's favorite source of drywall, the Home Depot. But you probably didn't know West 23rd Street is also home to a secret society known as the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. It's not as secretive as it was back in the 1800s during the height of the Freemason days, but this office building-turned-Masonic Temple is a bizarre site and definitely warrants exploration. Take a look.

The Lower East Side's Tenement Museum is one of New York City's more fascinating museums, giving you a peek into tenement life from the mid 19th to mid 20th centuries. In this video from producer Jessica Leibowitz for the Gothamist, peek inside the museum in a brief, two minute tour.

The Tenement Museum opened in 1988, though museum staff is constantly learning new details about the building's long list of former tenants. It also recently acquired the space at 103 Orchard Street, and will be expanding its offerings to include a program exploring the contemporary Lower East Side post-World War II up to around 2001. Jon Pace, the museum's communication's manager, told Gothamist that tours will discuss the lives of three types of LES denizens: Holocaust survivors, Puerto Rican migrants, and Chinese immigrants. Renovations will begin in 2016, and Pace anticipates that the new tour will open by summer of 2017.

Normally, the Tenement Museum doesn't allow photographs or video inside, but sometimes exceptions are made. The next day in which the museum will allow photography and video is this Friday, so grab your ticket before they sell out!
