In this time-lapse film, I worked to photograph the look and feel of a time long gone — blend the old style of New York with the more modern changes that have become interwoven with the city's true essence. Join me as we go back in time to the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s to a grittier and glamorous New York that can only be captured in black-and-white.

Check out the video page to read more about the inspiration behind the film.

Check it out!

Our cities are full of color and light. At night, they shine like a rainbow illuminating our world. This light is reflected in their waterways, on their buildings and streets, and even on the people who live there. For years, artists, craftsmen and craftswomen have designed brilliant neon signs that captured our attention with their colorful glow. Today, LED lights allow us to create an ever changing spectrum of color that adds a new brilliance to our cities’ skylines and streets at night.

These colorful urban metropolises are a reflection of the beautiful melting pot of people who imbue their character on their cities. And this continuously expanding rainbow of colors on our cities' skylines are a testament to the ever increasing diversity that we find within our cities and communities. This short timelapse film focuses on those colors and makes use of reflections, both natural and created, to help us reflect on the beauty that shines within all of us.
