Museum Hack is "a highly interactive, subversive, fun, non-traditional museum tour" started by Nick Gray a few years ago to get people interested in museums who really aren't that into traditional tours and experiences.

Our un-highlights tour puts an alternative spin on the museum, featuring other sides to the highlights we love, as well as some of the strangest, wildest, sexiest stories hidden throughout the museum. Each Museum Hack tour is customized based on the audience. Because we have small groups, the guides can modify the agenda based on your experience.

Prison reform advocate Ismael Nazario is a staff member at The Fortune Society where he helps former inmates from New York's Rikers Island jail reintegrate into society after their release. Why did Nazario decide to dedicate his life to prison youth reform? He spent his teenage years in Rikers himself.

As a teenager, Ismael Nazario was sent to New York’s Rikers Island jail, where he spent 300 days in solitary confinement — all before he was ever convicted of a crime. Now as a prison reform advocate he works to change the culture of American jails and prisons, where young people are frequently subjected to violence beyond imagination. Nazario tells his chilling story and suggests ways to help, rather than harm, teens in jail.

Data guru Ben Wellington of I Quant NY, a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt's School of Architecture, gave an informative and humorous peek at the semi-open state of New York City data during a recent TEDx New York conference. While it's true that New York City government agencies have come a long way in exposing data to the public, the fact that many agencies require you to bring a physical hard drive, or parse a convoluted PDF in order to get it, leaves much to be desired.

Lowline to Inject an Underground Public Park in NYC

a naturally lit underground park in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Originally based on the success of the
The High Line, co-founders Dan Barasch and James Ramsey have been
