[VIDEO] Passersby Lift SUV Off Woman Run Over on Lower East Side

A video shows bystanders on the Lower East Side Sunday rocking and tipping an SUV up onto two wheels to free a woman trapped underneath after she was run over by the car. The accident occurred Sunday at the intersection of Delancey and Norfolk streets, where the woman was struck during a traffic incident.

Colby Droscher captured the video and shared a photo afterward showing the woman conscious and being tended to by emergency services. Droscher said there were chaotic scenes at the intersection as people tried to figure out what was happening. "All of a sudden, everyone started running to lift the car," Droscher said, "And that's when a lot of us across the street realized that there was something under the SUV." Drosher said that the people who reacted so quickly showed true acts of heroism.

Police confirmed that the woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital. There were no further details immediately available about the nature of the traffic incident.

[VIDEO] Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co Helps Develop Your Inner Hero or Villain in Park Slope

826NYC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Brooklyn that seeks to support students from age 6 through 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to help teachers inspire their students to write creatively.

The non-profit has a super cool storefront in Park Slope called Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. where kids can go to help inspire their inner superhero, or if preferred, their inner super villain.

In this video from NY City Lens, watch as we get a peek inside the shop, and even into a secret lair through a secret entrance in back.

These Two Heroes Rescued a Runaway Dog After a Terrifying High-Speed Chase Through Manhattan

Recently on the Upper East Side, these two cyclists-turned-heroes successfully rescued a runaway dog sprinting through the busy streets of Manhattan. At one point, the dog runs for about a 1/4 mile down the FDR, and the bikers risk their lives for the rescue. Luckily, one of the bikers had a ride-camera turned on and captured the thrilling rescue on video, check it out!

Two concerned cyclists chased down a runaway dog on the Upper East Side. “Grab the dog!” Ricky Bernstein yelled as he biked through the streets of New York and onto the FDR Drive.

This Hero Volunteer Has Given Hundred of Makeovers to New York City's Stray and Rescued Dogs

Local dog groomer and superhero Mark Imhof has volunteered his services to Animal Care Centers of NYC over the past several years, giving hundreds of free haircuts, baths and grooming services to stray and rescued dogs looking for adoption. Often times, the dogs he grooms are immediately rescued. Meet Imhof and hear why he does it in this short profile video from Barcroft Animals.

A GENEROUS animal lover is helping find homes for New York’s stray dogs - by giving them a free bath and haircut. In 2016, almost 9000 homeless dogs were taken in by the Animal Care Centers of NYC. Over half of these were strays found on the streets, with no owners to care for them, feed or groom them. So, armed with his scissors and electric clippers, volunteer dog groomer Mark Imhof has been visiting the centres for two years to help the homeless animals desperately in need of a haircut. And kind-hearted Mark has now groomed over 500 dogs, helping countless pups find new fur-ever homes.

Watch This Real Life Superhero Rescue a Fallen Man Off NYC Subway Tracks

ConEd worker Jonathan Kulig, 29, recently channeled his inner superhero when he dove onto the NYC subway tracks at the 3rd Avenue-14th Street L station to rescue a man who had fallen down from the platform.

Kulig, a licensed professional engineer, said he was on his way to work when the commotion started.“I hear people yelling, ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’ ” he said. So he jumped to action — but not before making sure he knew where he could go if the train was approaching. “I had my escape plan. I knew where to walk, where not to walk,” he said.
