The Gowanus E-waste Warehouse is a large facility in Brooklyn that allows New Yorkers to drop off and recycle discarded, old, and/or broken electronics for free. The goal of the warehouse is to reduce the contamination that the toxic electronic parts would add to our landfills, and ultimately, our environment. This collection of vintage tech is also the perfect spot for movies and television shows to find the old electronics they need. Learn more about the warehouse in this interesting video from Gizmodo.

Deep in Brooklyn, there's a warehouse that supplies vintage electronics to film and movie sets.

From Casey Neistat to Greta Gerwig, 368 Broadway launched the careers of many of NYC's most successful filmmakers. This summer, I researched the story behind the storied building. My conclusion? One day, at some overpriced liberal arts college, students will take a class called: "The Diane Fink School of Filmmaking." Mark my words.

Contents of this video:
0:00 - Intro
1:08 - The rise of Casey's vlog
2:20 - The origins of 368
3:20 - 368's main theme
3:54 - 368 in the 1900s
4:09 - Diane Fink
4:47 - Early 368 films
6:05 - Collaboration
6:40 - Similar styles
7:33 - Mainstream success
8:15 - New generation

Martin Scorsese's period epic Gangs of New York took up residence in the chaos-ridden New York City neighborhoods of the mid-1800s, populated by eccentric characters and vicious acts of aggression. Its depiction wasn't entirely accurate, but it was based on a very real neighborhood and the very real misery it experienced. Five Points, a major intersection in lower Manhattan, was home to a host of impoverished immigrants seeking a better future for their families. That future wasn't easy to come by; newcomers mostly encountered hostility and distrust, which often boiled over into conflict.
