Welcome to the world of Billionaire's Row in New York City, where the most luxurious properties reach sky-high prices. But not everything that glitters is gold. In this video, we dive deep into the infamous 432 Park Avenue, a $1.25 billion luxury tower that was meant to be the pinnacle of exclusivity and opulence. With homes listed from $20 million to $82 million, this building was designed to offer the best of the best, but it has become notorious for its construction defects, dangerous flaws, and legal battles.

From swimming in high winds to flooding issues, elevator malfunctions, and cheap railings, we explore how this so-called masterpiece has become a cautionary tale of greed, ambition, and surprisingly, duct tape. Residents even filed a $250 million lawsuit against the developers, accusing them of breach of contract and fiduciary duty.

Find out how a dream tower became a legal and financial nightmare, and what could have been one of New York’s greatest landmarks, turned into a symbol of failure and luxury gone wrong. Join us as we unravel this wild story and dive into the dark side of luxury real estate in New York City.

Investigators in New York City seized dozens of ice cream trucks after operators were accused of evading more than $4.5 million in fines since 2009.

The 46 trucks, apparently operated by New York Ice Cream, were towed from 34-31 11th Street and at the corner of Vernon Boulevard and Broadway in Long Island City Wednesday.

The operators targeted by "operation meltdown" allegedly violated thousands of traffic safety laws, and instead of paying fines, created dozens of "shell" companies to avoid enforcement efforts, according to a press release from Mayor Bill de Blasio's office.

You may not have noticed before, but many of Manhattan's older buildings have a specific shape based on rules that were defined by a specific zoning law enacted in 1916. The requirements were set to allow light, airflow, and a general feeling of openness to the City streets, and it worked. In this short video from Bloomberg, learn all about how the 1916 Zoning Resolution forever changed the New York City skyline, and inspired cities across the nation to enact similar regulations.

Why do so many of New York's older skyscrapers have a similar design? The answer can be traced back to a monumental 1916 zoning law, which established “setback” requirements for buildings above a certain height. In the heart of the Financial District, the Equitable Building, a historic skyscraper that predates the law, remains a symbol of the excesses of the pre-zoning era.

NYC Traffic Rule 4-15(j) states that the total length of a trailer truck from front to back should be no longer than 55 feet. Because the front cabs of these trucks are always longer than 2 feet, this means that trailers that have 53 foot long trailer sections are all illegal and should not be on the NYC streets. One citizen vigilante has taken to social media to call out the violators of this traffic rule under the Twitter handles @illegal53NYC and @ConradGangone

It may seem trival and and oddly specific violation to call out, but our small, crowded City streets and tight corners are not setup to handle these large trailers, often leading to damaged vehicles, signs, infrastructure, and even worse, pedestrian and biker injuries and/or casualties.

A Federal judge in Brooklyn just awarded the 5Pointz street artists a massive $6.7 Million payout in their lawsuit against Long Island condominium developer Jerry Wolkoff. The artists argued that the developer violated the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990, which allows artists "to prevent any destruction of a work of recognized stature, and any intentional or grossly negligent destruction of that work." In 2013, the developer painted over all of the murals, whitewashing the walls in the middle of the night while an initial lawsuit was already filed to protect them.
