Erected on July 4th by Eagle Fence on Staten Island, this massive American flag measures 50 feet wide by 30 feet tall, totaling 1,500 square feet! It sits atop a 150 foot pole outside of the business and is visible for miles in all directions. Check it out when in West Brighton, Staten Island.

A 50x30 foot flag was raised on a 150 foot high pole on the 4th of July.

Macy's Introducing a Companion App To Watch Alongside the NYC Fourth of July Fireworks

This year, the 40th Annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks has a companion app for iOS and Android devices that will let you watch the firework show digitally alongside the real thing in the sky.

In addition to the pyro in the sky, this year Macy’s is putting light into the hands of revelers everywhere with the Makelight App. […] On July 4th, spectators will marvel as their phones synch with the awe-inspiring display, mirroring the colors seen in the show as they ignite the night.

If you are not in the City, or can't make it outside or close enough to see the fireworks and participate in the show, the App will still be a cool way to check out the event from home.
