This busy little dog goes to work with his mom at her art gallery in NYC every single day. When it's time for a break, he heads to his little doggie pool — and waits for friends and fans to show up and say hello. Lots of people show up to see the art, but even more people show up to see Bert!

Keep up-to-date with Bert's activities by following @bertiebertthepom on Instagram.

"The Beautiful Brain" at NYU's Grey Art Gallery features the drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal (Spain, 1852–1934). Known as the father of modern neuroscience, Cajal is credited with discovering intricate functions of the brain long before the benefits of modern medical imaging. His astonishing and detailed drawings represent the intersection of art and science while portraying the infinite complexity of the human brain. Juxtaposed with colorful contemporary visualizations of the brain, nearly 80 of Cajal's images are on display in this first U.S. museum exhibition featuring his work.

Starting with a 1-night exhibition at 151 Canal Street on November 8th, 2017 titled Some Grow Up, Others Grow Down, the name "Hanksy" will be retired.

‘Some Grow Up, Others Grow Down’ Nov 8th @ 151 Canal St NYC. New show, new art, new (actual) name.

The artist formerly known as "Hanksy" is perhaps most famous for his excellent Dump Trump mural back in 2015.

Not of or by dogs, but for dogs. The untapped audience is massive: Canines live in a staggering 47% of American homes -- that's 80 million pups hungry for culture. dOGUMENTA offers an unprecedented opportunity for the creative community to engage with a new breed of art lover and to consider its concerns, interests and worldview. Our pups give us so much. Isn't it time we gave back?

The gallery will be open only for three days starting today, August 11th through Sunday, August 13th, so get there now while it's still here!

Visual artist Portia Munson's new exhibit is one that may contrast to your average contemporary art exhibit. "The Garden" is currently on display at PPOW Gallery in Chelsea, and highlights a feminist’s perspective on our ever-changing environments and the fleeting nature of time.

While one room has detailed and vibrant quilts that drape the ceilings, another is filled with elaborate, painted dolls. Munson's exhibit combines her work from the 1990s to work from today, providing a unique commentary on how femininity is portrayed in society, presenting itself as a visually stimulating garden of girly delights.

Check out the exhibit page gallery for more info on the The Garden or Munson. Be sure to check it out now while you can, it’s only up and running until February 11th!

Our favorite parodical street artist Hanksy is back again next week with his "Surplus Candy LA" event at 359 Grand St. on the Chinatown/Lower East Side border.

Thanks to a DIY 360 camera rig held together by rubber bands, the NYC-based artist was able to document the entire exhibition in 3D. The end result is Surplus Candy VR, a one-of-a-kind vast virtual experience that allows users to “choose their own adventure” and tour the entire house (30+ rooms) in all its painted glory. Sans paint fumes.

Surplus Candy VR will be launching exclusively in NYC on October 14th via an exhibition in Lower Manhattan. Artwork from LA takeover will be on display as well as multiple VR headsets allowing users to tour the transitory exhibition. A short film documenting the LA event from Dega Films will also premiere. The exhibition will run from October 14-16.

The experience will then be placed online October 17th, allowing anyone with an internet connection to virtually tour this unique art exhibition. Surplus Candy VR works with or without VR goggles.

Event/Exhibition Details:

October 14th-16th

359 Grand Sreet NYC

Friday Oct 14th 6-8pm (press preview)

Friday Oct 14th 8-10pm (public opening)

One of the exhibit's most striking installations is a whimsical, white-lighted glass house, created by Carlton Scott Sturgill. Inside Sturgill's slice of paradise is a bedroom filled with flowers, growing from the mattress, the ground and the walls. Look carefully, and the viewer sees the flowers are made of cloth — Ralph Lauren shirts, upon even closer inspection.

The exhibit will remain in Snug Harbor until September 11th. With all the dystopian current events occurring the pieces help imagine a brighter future.

Adam Green's Aladdin is a new film set to release this year that "is a hyper-sensory, poetic, and humorously modern take on the Arabian Nights Classic tale."

This past Thursday saw the opening of a new exhibition featuring elements and scenes of the film at The Hole on Bowery, and our friends at Bedford + Bowery were on scene to check it out.
