Vintage Colorized Photograph Shows Aftermath of the 1920 Wall Street Bombing

On September 16, 1920 the Stock Exchange, the Sub-Treasury building (today’s Federal Hall), and most importantly J.P. Morgan’s headquarters on 23 Wall Street — were all very active when an unidentified man led a horse and carriage down the congested street, fighting to get past crowds, until it rested at the corner about 100 feet east of Broad.

This vintage photograph shows the aftermath of the 1920 Wall Street bombing. The added color by colorization artist Zoe Martin really helps you imagine what it would have been like that day nearly one hundred years ago. Check Out This HD Video of Last Night's Unearthly Glowing Sky and Flashing Lights in Astoria, Queens

By now you have probably heard about the Con Edison transformer explosion in Astoria, Queens, that turned NYC's night sky into an unearthly glowing and flashing blue light. There are plenty of spooky photos capturing the event, but check out this video shot by YouTuber actionkid105 from the neighborhood streets to get a sense of what it was really like. It seems straight out of a horror/sci-fi movie!

A Con Edison transformer exploded in Astoria, Queens, NYC, causing the entire sky to light up green and flash lights. People were reporting white smoke from the power plant. The electricity in my house surged and I immediately saw the sky green. It was one of the scariest moments I ever captured on video, I truly thought the world was ending at one point.

Vazac's Horseshoe Bar on 7th St and Ave B is a hotspot for NYC film and television studios who need a grimy dive bar to shoot in. Blue Bloods films there, TMNT too, and now there is another movie shoot that is blowing the doors off the bar, literally.

Jessica Jones is an upcoming Marvel series starring Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, a former super-heroine who decides to reboot her life by becoming a private investigator.
