On September 16, 1920 the Stock Exchange, the Sub-Treasury building (today’s Federal Hall), and most importantly J.P. Morgan’s headquarters on 23 Wall Street — were all very active when an unidentified man led a horse and carriage down the congested street, fighting to get past crowds, until it rested at the corner about 100 feet east of Broad.

This vintage photograph shows the aftermath of the 1920 Wall Street bombing. The added color by colorization artist Zoe Martin really helps you imagine what it would have been like that day nearly one hundred years ago. Here is a Google StreetView of what Wall Street looks like today from approximately the same vantage point:

By now you have probably heard about the Con Edison transformer explosion in Astoria, Queens, that turned NYC's night sky into an unearthly glowing and flashing blue light. There are plenty of spooky photos capturing the event, but check out this video shot by YouTuber actionkid105 from the neighborhood streets to get a sense of what it was really like. It seems straight out of a horror/sci-fi movie!

A Con Edison transformer exploded in Astoria, Queens, NYC, causing the entire sky to light up green and flash lights. People were reporting white smoke from the power plant. The electricity in my house surged and I immediately saw the sky green. It was one of the scariest moments I ever captured on video, I truly thought the world was ending at one point.

While escape rooms are nothing new, ones that have real consequences are unique. Beat the Bomb in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn, is one such escape room. You have to solve the puzzles to defuse a special "bomb" (a paintball grenade) otherwise it will explode on you and your team. Check out the video below to see what you can expect if you give it a shot, and fail.

Your objective is simple: disarm the paint bomb before time on the clock runs out. You will be equipped with a state-of-the-art hazardous material handling suit for protection… just in case. Do you have what it takes to BEAT THE BOMB?

In this incredible 360° video from Skansa USA, the team behind the demolition, see the demolition from directly underneath and beside it.

After constructing the first phase of New York City’s new Kosciuszko Bridge – providing a safer and smoother crossing – it was time to carefully demolish the original. Through the eyes of five, strategically-positioned 360-degree cameras, view how Skanska USA safely executed the explosive finale.

If you can't move the view around, you need to use the Google Chrome browser on desktop, or the YouTube App for iOS or Android to move around inside the video.

Jessica Jones is an upcoming Marvel series starring Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, a former super-heroine who decides to reboot her life by becoming a private investigator.

This video from East Village Today captures the shoot all on film.
