Check it out!

A slice of life in the time of corona. Thousands of invisible front line workers risk their health every day to bring food to your couch. They aren't just immigrants struggling to survive in New York City. They aren't just the delivery men and women you don't look at when you open your door. They are the backbone of this city, they are the essential. Most importantly, they are people too and they deserve our respect and recognition now more than ever. Tip generously if you'd like and give them PPE if you can.

NYC Traffic Rule 4-15(j) states that the total length of a trailer truck from front to back should be no longer than 55 feet. Because the front cabs of these trucks are always longer than 2 feet, this means that trailers that have 53 foot long trailer sections are all illegal and should not be on the NYC streets. One citizen vigilante has taken to social media to call out the violators of this traffic rule under the Twitter handles @illegal53NYC and @ConradGangone

It may seem trival and and oddly specific violation to call out, but our small, crowded City streets and tight corners are not setup to handle these large trailers, often leading to damaged vehicles, signs, infrastructure, and even worse, pedestrian and biker injuries and/or casualties.

With the cold beating down on us hard right now in New York City, it is especially hard times for those who spend their days and nights on the City streets. YouTuber Rob Bliss recently had an idea to repurpose the Amazon Prime Now instant delivery service to help deliver needed goods to them in short time.

Note: this video is NOT SPONSORED OR AFFILIATED WITH AMAZON. I'm sure this technique could be used with Postmates or whoever else too. I simply wanted to demonstrate how easy and convenient it can be to bring a person in need, what they need, and to encourage that behavior.

The New Fulton Fish Market in Hunts Point is the largest fish market in the country, housing about 40 wholesale seafood businesses that supply most of the tri-state area with fresh fish daily. In this video from the New York Daily News, see how the FultonfishMarket.com cleans, packs, and delivers the daily catch from the marker to places all around the world, straight to customer doorsteps.

Meade Digital lets customers anywhere in the country order directly through Fulton FishMarket.com, a custom website that delivers the catch of the day. The goal is to help Americans get an edge up on the competition — and land some of the world’s freshest fish.

In this video from the Associated Press, hear how owner Jake Dell wants to expand worldwide with a new global delivery program.

Katz’s Delicatessen has been sending a salami to your boy in the Army since 1942. Now the New York City restaurant is preparing to expand its shipping capacity to send perishable delicacies like pastrami and corned beef around the globe.
