Two days after winning, Nia Franklin, who lives in Clinton Hill, says it hasn't quite sunk in yet that she is the new Miss America. Franklin said her two roommates are "super stoked" and both were there in Atlantic City on Sunday night to help her celebrate. She may have grown up in North Carolina, but she says living in Brooklyn gave her an edge in this competition.

The 2018 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest took place yesterday on July 4th, and to nobody's surprise, Joey Chestnut took to top prize in the men's competition. Now in its 101st year, the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest took place yesterday on July 4th and as predicted, defending champion Joey Chestnut came out on top with an impressive 72 hot dogs.

Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo were crowned the winners once again this Fourth of July at the 101st Annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island in Brooklyn. […] On the men’s side, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut ate 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes to defend his title against the only competitor to beat him in the last 10 years — Matt “Megatoad” Stonie. Chestnut beat his own record of 70.
