The Brooklyn Bridge was built in 1883 to connect the City of New York with the City of Brooklyn by spanning the East River. It was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed, and the longest suspension bridge in the world for several years.

In this interesting vintage photograph from around 1905, view Lower Manhattan looking down from atop one of the famous Brooklyn Bridge Towers.

This unusual view was taken from the top of the New York tower of the Brooklyn Bridge around 1905. Lower Manhattan is in transition from low rise buildings to the ever increasing number of skyscrapers dotting the landscape.

Brooklyn cinematographer and editor Taylor Morgan recently went out to Brooklyn Bridge Park just North of the Manhattan Bridge and spent the afternoon capturing some amazing sunset footage of it all.

A quick afternoon flight with my trusty DJI Phantom 3 Professional while the sun sets over the New York skyline.

Created in the 1920s, this incredible vintage film gives a tour of New York City buildings, streets, neighborhoods, hotspots, and attractions all throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. As a silent film, there are written descriptions of what you are seeing every few seconds. The film was found and uploaded to YouTube by Dutch historian, photographer, and videographer Michael Rogge. Well worth the 8-minute watch, check it out!

Brooklyn-based photographer Victor Thomas (previously) is an Urban Explorer and Instagrammer in New York City that scales buildings, rooftops, and bridges to get the perfect aerial view. In this daring video from Thomas, watch as he and a few buddies explore the top of the Brooklyn Bridge during a heavy snow storm.

The Brooklyn Bridge was designed by John A. Roebling. Construction began in 1869 and was completed in 1883. At the time, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world.
