YouTuber and art enthusist Zerina Phillip recently uploaded some footage of this past weekend's 2017 NYC Bodypainting Day in Washington Square Park.

The most amazing, freedom of self-event took place in the Greenwich Village neighborhood public park. Washington Square Park was not just the center for cultural activity on July 22, 2017, it was the meeting ground for the 4th annual NYC Bodypainting Day event. Photographer couldn’t miss capturing the beauty painted models.

A Living Copy of Vincent van Gogh's Ear Exists and Is On View in NYC

Sugababe is a macabre live-art exhibit from German artist Diemut Strebe which is a living-tissue replica of van Gogh's famously severed ear, grown from a living descendent's DNA.

Sugababe is a living replica of Vincent van Gogh's ear, grown from tissue engineered cartilage. It is composed of living van Gogh cells from a male descendant, containing natural genetic information about Vincent as well as genetically engineered components. The project focuses on a particular form of human replication. The Theseus paradox from Plutarch forms the literary basis for the scientific approaches using the principle of replacement on the molecular, the microscopic and the anatomic level.

The ear will be on display at Ronald Feldman Fine Arts in SoHo until December 5th.

Meet Saira, One of the Original Topless Painted Ladies of Times Square

In recent weeks, body-painted topless performers in Times Square have divided the City, transforming the tourist spot into an unlikely battleground for a fight on gender equality.

Saira is one of the original painted ladies of Times Square, here long before the recent wave of women seeking to capitalize on the drama.

“From the day I started I knew it was gonna become a movement,” she says. “This is something that should be talked about. It doesn’t mean you have to like it. It’s fine you don’t! But talk about it. Think about why you don’t like it, think about where you’re coming from.”

Pregnant Artist Amanda Palmer's Amazing Body Art Book Drive at the New York Public Library

On August 20th, artist / musician / crowd-funder Amanda Palmer — currently 8 months pregnant — donned nothing but body paint on the steps of the New York Public Library to recreate an amazing statue and attract donations for a children's book drive.

On August 20th, Amanda Palmer and a whole team of artists and body-painters got together to create…something. This film documents the entire day, filmed from 11 am until she stood on the pedestal of the 5th Ave Branch of the NYPL at 6:15 pm.

Model Walks Around City With a Painted-On Top, Nobody Notices

Perhaps this is a success in the #freethenipple campaign to desexualize the female breast, or perhaps it means we just don't pay attention to other people on the street,
but when musician/model Cheryl Martinez recently went roaming around Midtown with a painted on shirt, nobody notices at all.

We saw similar results a few months ago when a model walked around the City sans-pants.
