The New York Public Library recently released this great playlist of New York City sounds to help remind you of what our City normally sounds like/. Check it out!

The New York we know and love is one click away: cabs honking, pigeons cooing, bike messengers whizzing by, strangers gossiping, the hum of a local library. Anywhere you are can now become the city—all you need is Missing Sounds of New York, The New York Public Library’s new album.

A new immersive experience, the album is a collection of audio landscapes that evoke some of the sounds of New York City. Missing Sounds of New York, a partnership with creative agency Mother New York, is a love letter to NYC, connecting New Yorkers around the familiar sounds of urban life that they love and miss during this unprecedented time of social separation.

Sounds of New York is a cool new website from shared workspace site Breather that plays an ambient tracks of recordings made within Manhattan neighborhoods.

Sounds of New York is our tribute to a city we love. We spent months capturing the buzz and energy of New York City's neighborhoods and present it to you as ambient noise to help you focus while you work It’s ambient noise for you to play in the background while you’re working. We just happened to curate these particular background sounds from famous locations throughout NYC neighborhoods.

So far there are 25 Manhattan neighborhoods included, but they plan on adding more from all around the City in the coming months. Check out the full site to listen in on your neighborhood.
