It's no secret that the MTA is having major problems across the board right now with aging trains, stations, and infrastructure, but that is no excuse for failing to provide basic accessibility accommodations to those riders who need them the most. In this recent exposé from the Huffington Post, see how badly the MTA is failing people with disabilities in New York City.

“You really don't realize how inaccessible the city is until you need it to be accessible for you.” Nearly 30 years after the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, people with disabilities are still struggling to access New York City’s public transit system.

In this revealing 360° video from the New York Times, see how getting around the City is even more difficult for passengers in wheelchairs, when certain stations, platforms and services are simply not available or continually out of service.

Ride along as a New Yorker in a wheelchair explains why more people with disabilities don’t take the train.

Never before has the quest for a rainbow bagel been so epic or made the need for accessibility in cities so frustratingly clear.

The video was co-created by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation to highlight New York City's accessibility problem. As frustrating as the video is, Anner notes the NYC is actually on of the better cities for accessibility, but its clear we have a lot of work to do.
