Check Out This Amazing Interactive 360° Aerial View of Roosevelt Island's New Cornell Tech Campus

Over the past three years, the southern third of Roosevelt Island—all area between the Queensboro Bridge and the Smallpox Hospital ruins—has been a massive construction zone. After a ton of work, the Cornell Tech Campus is nearly completed, and the school just released this interactive 360° aerial tour of the campus.

The Cornell Tech campus is a place for discovery, alive with debate, both intellectually and physically. The sustainable campus architecture isn't just a backdrop for what is going on inside the buildings. It is a model for innovation that inspires and keeps the campus' high aspirations on track.

Vintage Panoramic Photograph Shows 360° View of NYC From New York World Building in 1892

New York City-centric historical blog Stuff Nobody Cares About recently stiched together ten separate vintage photographs from 1892 found in the King’s Handbook of New York City in order to create an impressive 360° panoramic photograph showing lower Manhattan from atop the New York World Building, the world's tallest at the time.

Taken from atop Joseph Pulitzer’s New York World Building, you can get a sense of what the entire city looked like before the turn-of-the-century, when the skyscraper emerged and would forever alter the skyline. A golden dome topped Pulitzer’s Building with an observation gallery that gave the visitor the following view. Probably the three most prominent points in the panorama are from left to right, the Post Office, City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Google's new Window Wonderland site takes you on an immersive 360° VR tour of Midtown Manhattan's most over-the-top holiday window displays.

New York’s holiday window tradition dates back nearly 150 years. This year, walk with us through the streets of Manhattan — past Santa’s high-tech command center, cotton candy couture gowns, ice skating bunny rabbits, and the gang from “South Park.”

360° Photo Captured From Middle of Recently Opened High Bridge

Technically speaking, The Bronx-Manhattan High Bridge is the oldest in the City, dating back to 1848. It was built 35 years before the Brooklyn Bridge, but portions of it have been replaced whereas the Brooklyn Bridge is mostly original.

High Bridge is also the most recently opened bridge — ok… reopened bridge — with pedestrian crossings allowed last summer after decades of "construction."
