If you’ve been awaiting the onset of fall to embrace the abundance of craft beers, this is your event!

The Village Voice’s Brooklyn Pour event is one of the most highly anticipated craft beer festivals in the tri-state area, […] With our extensive lineup of participating breweries excelling each year, we are thrilled to announce our initial line up.

Sixty-five breweries are scheduled to present over 100 samples of the best seasonal, micro and reserve beer available regionally and nationally. The first round of breweries announced include: Black Hog Brewing Company, Dogfish Head Brewery, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Narragansett Brewing Company.

In case you needed another reason to attend, The Village Voice has teamed up with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization that rescues adoptable dogs from high kill shelters in the southern United States. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the charity.

The festival will take place Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Brooklyn Expo Center from 3pm to 6pm. Tickets are available now and offer unlimited tasting options and a souvenir tasting glass.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is known for its great views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty but also has some fantastic art installations. This Spring, a new installation by Martin Creed will lighten up the atmosphere with the largest public sculpture he has created.

The Public Art Fund is bringing the exhibition, Work No. 2630 Understanding (2016), that features the word 'understanding' as one piece that soars 25 feet and rotates. Nicholas Baume a Public Art Fund Director and Chief Curator explains the inspiration behind bringing Creed's work to the park.

His art confronts us with things we think we already know – inviting us to look at them afresh. ‘Understanding’ is a simple word with complex meanings; we might, for example, show understanding on an emotional level, even while not understanding what somebody has said or done. In this luminous and dynamic sculptural form, the word is isolated, monumental, and continually moving. Both literally and figuratively, Creed offers us a new vantage point to see the world. But is this a celebration of understanding or a challenge to us to understand more? Either way, Martin Creed’s disarming eloquence captures our imagination.

The sculpture will be ready for the public from May 4 to October 23, 2016 at Pier 6 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. For more information about the artist and the exhibit visit the event site.

Nearly four centuries later, society has notably evolved and the City has with it.

In this video from our friends over at Business Insider, we can enjoy a side-by-side snippet of the some of the cultural and architectural differences in the City over the past 100 years.

In the early 20th century, cameras began documenting the liveliness of the city for the first time. A lot has changed since then, but the energy of New York remains the same.

Skyscrapers are surely a sight to be seen and definitely are one of the most enticing aspects of New York City. While the skyline surrounding Manhattan is already astounding, New York Yimby says there is room for more.

According to their report, construction on nine new buildings will begin this year including six supertalls over 984 feet.

Manhattan long held the title of the world’s most impressive skyline, with the boom of the 1920s cementing the island’s status as the skyscraper capital of the globe. The Chrysler Building (at 1,046 feet) and the Empire State Building (at 1,250 feet) marked the city’s first official supertalls, and the ESB held the title of the world’s tallest building until the Twin Towers of the original World Trade Center were completed in the early 1970s.

These iconic landmarks will be surpassed by three of the nine new buildings; 30 Hudson Yards standing at 1,296 feet, 111 West 57th Street climbing to 1,438 feet and 217 West 57th Street soaring at 1,550 feet making them the tallest buildings in Manhattan.

Here is a look at the nine new buildings to rise in the year to come.

217 West 57th Street - 1,550 feet

220 Central Park South - 950 feet

111 West 57th Street - 1,438 feet

53 West 53rd Street - 1,050 feet

30 Hudson Yards - 1,296

15 Hudson Yards - 915 feet

35 Hudson Yards - 1,005 feet

1 Manhattan West - 995 feet

175 Greenwich Street - 1,070 feet

Housing trends are set to change according to a report by real estate analysts at StreetEasy. New York City renters are set to move into some new neighborhoods this year as the market adjusts for 2016. While growth of sales prices and rental prices skyrocketed in 2015, they are likely to level out in 2016. Overall prices will still be high, but they are not expected to grow at quite the same levels that they did last year.

StreetEasy’s annual list of the city’s hottest neighborhoods is a reflection of where New York apartment shoppers are expected to turn their attention in the coming year. Queens will see a surge of new demand in 2016, according to the StreetEasy Hot Market Index, which ranks all of the city’s neighborhoods using a series of key performance indicators.

Without further ado, here is the list of New York City's Hottest neighborhoods of 2016:

Kew Garden Hills, Queens 0. Bedford Park, Bronx 0. Elmhurst, Queens 0. Midwood, Brooklyn 0. Parkchester, Bronx 0. Woodside, Queens 0. Jamaica Estates, Queens 0. Pelham Parkway, Bronx 0. Coney Island, Brooklyn 0. Jamaica, Queens {: reversed="reversed"}

Animals will soon be able to fly in style at Kennedy International Airport. The ARK, the $48 million dollar luxury animal terminal will check in more than 70,000 animals flying through JFK every year.

This service will be replacing the Vetport that currently handles animals and can possibly give Business Class a run for its money.

"A lot of our design making is in collaboration with veterinarians and consultants to help minimize the amount of stress placed on the animal," said Cliff Bollmann, a leading airport architect working on The ARK for the San Francisco-based architecture firm Gensler.

The 176,000 square foot facility is dotting some incredible amenities. Climate controlled stalls with showers, suites, spa services and webcam monitoring are available for everything from dogs and cows to penguins.

The terminal is set to open next year pending approval from the US Department of Agriculture.
