[WATCH] How NYC Observation Decks Became More Valuable Than The Buildings They’re In

In the last 10 years, New York City went from having two observation decks to five. Since 2015, we’ve seen One World Trade Center, One Vanderbilt, and 30 Hudson Yards all open with an observation deck plonked on top. But it's not just NYC, the trend has gone global. Why? Well, James looked into it and found that the trend really started in 2013, thanks to one building and one 500-page document.
