2003 Video of the Abandoned Elevated Tracks Before They Became the Highline

If you can get past the inexplicably 80's music from this 2003 video, there is some amazing video footage of the High Line park before it was a park. There is some amazing graffiti, overgrown plants and grass, trash and other industrial junk, and rundown buildings all around the area.

Once the High Line came in, the area around the park slowly gentrified and turned into the posh condo neighborhood you see today. It is one of the fastest turnarounds for a neighborhood the City has ever seen, and it all started from here just a short 12 years ago.
